How Ductless Works

Ductless air conditioning and heating systems are also known as mini-splits because like their big brothers, an air conditioner or heat pump is located outside the home, and the indoor coil and fan motor are located inside the home (as seen in the attached image). The outdoor unit is located adjacent to the indoor air handler, making the system independent of ducting. Ductless air handlers can be mounted on the wall, ceiling recessed or mounted on the floor.

Can a ductless system keep an area warm during our frigid winter temperatures? You bet. Mitsubishi H2i™ technology can provide heat even down to negative 13° degrees outside! A ductless system can be used to supplement or be the primary heating solution.

What if I have more than one room?

Ductless outdoor units can power multiple indoor air handlers. This is known by some as ductless “twinning” but can be used for more than just two inside areas. Each air handler offers individual comfort control.
